This week was hopefully the start of a long and fruitful journey, after months of planning and working with different graphic designers and manufacturing production houses we saw the launch of our online retail store at www.RunGoddess.com.
I have always been fascinated with tattoos and have contemplated getting one on a number of occasions but could never decide on a design that I liked. Friends of mine who have them have all indicated that its something that should have personal meaning or something important to me as I will likely have it on my body for along time. Everytime I think I had decided on something another thought entered the picture and a change of mind so deciding on what particular design has become difficult.
Several years ago I took up running and have just completed my third year of racing, having completed 2 marathons and 4 half-marathons this year. Running changed my life for the better, I feel healthier and fitter than compared to the years prior to my decision to become a runner.
So I thought if I get a tattoo I want to get something to do with running but should I get the traditional 26.2 for the marathons that I have accomplished. Should I get the 13.1 for the half-marathon as I plan to do more of them having become a fresh new half-fanatic a few months ago. I liked the winged foot of Mercury and I love the logo we developed a number of years ago for our running community called Tribal Running. What to get, what to get and then the thought of just going with a temporary tattoo until I either make a firm decision on getting a real one or just get several of different varieties to celebrate the different races I may find myself in.
When hunting for a temporary tattoo that I could fall in love with, I couldn’t find anything, everything looked like clipart to me and so the lightbulb came on over my head. Our corporation already has designed and developed a few websites relating to running, why not develop our own temporary tattoos and that is where the idea of RunGoddess was born.
Over the years we have worked with a number of graphics companies in the development of our internet projects and we knew we could put the challenge out there to create a unique graphic that could be turned into a temporary tattoo. As of today we have four unique designs, two resulting in items that have come back from production and are already selling on the site. Our triathlon tattoo is scheduled for January production and by the way I love this design, I just wished I did triathlons so I could wear it there and our 13.1 scheduled for February production.
We plan to continue to develop the RunGoddess website, you can find us at the .com, .net and .ca extensions as well as RunGoddessBodyArt.com, we hope to also bring our tattoos to some of the bigger running expos so if your wandering around some day at an expo and you see a few people dressed in Roman togas wearing a racing bib then you can be sure RunGoddess is somewhere in the building.
